efore embarking on a balanced scorecard approach, we must understand that everything starts by reforming the way of thinking, of designing the strategy and driving the company. This reform should be chosen and not imposed.
When reform is imposed, the project is bound to fail. Solutions that do not integrate the importance of this revolution will have to be avoided like the plague.
Elaborating the Strategy
The Balanced Scorecard is not a solution that is put as a patch expected to cure the company of its bad habits.
The spirit of Balanced Scorecard starts with developing the strategy and is pursued throughout its deployment.
Without a real mobilization of all moments, the project is not feasible.
As a Conclusion
The Balanced Scorecard method is part of a more general definition and rather Manichean of management rules. There would be THE good and bad ways to design a strategy or operate businesses.
Benchmarking which is very useful to position oneself on the scene would become the main tool to sort the wheat from the chaff, the good from the bad students. The principles of the notorious "Excellence Award", despite his crushing defeat, are still present and the trend is more than ever to seek the formal rules of success and the cloning of so-called model companies.
In my opinion, it seems to me that it is not by following others that we are most likely to stand out and take the competitive advantage!
